Chemtrails over Glastonbury Tor - truth or imagination?

Recently a Glastonbury People follower contacted us on Twitter and invited us to read her blog, look at her petition on reclaiming the blue skies over Glastonbury Tor and if we agreed with it, to sign here.  The petition calls for the banning of the spraying of lethal chemicals (chemtrails) and pollution of the sky over Glastonbury Tor, activities which we are given no say upon even though they occur across the whole world and started way back in the 1990s.

The basic theory behind chemtrails is that rather than being streams of condensing water vapour clouds left from the exhausts of passenger carrying jets (known as contrails) in reality these trails are in many cases chemtrails in fact toxin laden aerosols containing a concoction of aluminium,  barium and strontium or other chemical or biological agents, that are deliberately deposited in the atmosphere from where they fall to earth in rainfall, pollute our waterways and are eventually absorbed into our bodies.  Depending on who you ask, the work is undertaken on behalf of Governments, the New World Order, Monsanto Corporation or other organisations with the aim of tackling solar radiation; population control; food production; weather management; biological warfare or other atmospheric geo-engineering, and whatever their intention they are harming us by causing respiratory problems, Alzheimer's disease, muscle weakness, nerve damage and various other health issues.  And most worryingly they apparently occur right over Glastonbury virtually every day.

At around 10.30 this morning as it was a warm, clear October one with bright blue skies broken by just a few white clouds, I decided to venture out and have a look myself.  Sure I know we see plane trails all the time but I rarely take any notice of them as they are always visible, but this time I thought I'd actively investigate what was actually happening in the skies over Glastonbury.

Above the Tor itself it seemed to be business as usual with just a few clouds, but as I looked across towards Wearyall Hill, there was indeed much evidence of of airplane trails, and in the hour or so it took me to walk up there and to watch, 10 or 11 passenger jets flew past in the distance; nevertheless as we are on the flight path for Bristol airport this is maybe not surprising.  As I gazed into the sky, I noticed that as expected many of the trails dissipated within a few minutes, yet others lingered around for far longer - in fact a couple seemed to take over half an hour to eventually dissipate.  Meanwhile as I was quietly contemplating the issue, I found myself acting out a conspiracy theory nightmare as I was buzzed by two helicopters (one white, one blue), a light aircraft and 2 magpies, causing me to scarper back into the town center and into the solace of the Lazy Gecko!  Of course it may just have been my overactive imagination and the helicopters may just have been monitoring the results of the spraying, but they sure scared the bejesus out of me!

Following my initial investigation I'm really no clearer (and a quick search on the internet brings up literally thousands of pages); I don't know if there is any truth in this; governments  and aviation experts are are quick to dismiss it and suggest that chemtrail conspiracy theorists are just another bunch of wackos competing with alien abductees!  Nevertheless I think I'll sign the petition just in case!
