Orchestra in a Field is returning to Glastonbury Abbey this July and for very limited time an earlybird ticket offer is available.

The festival that rewrites the rules of classical music has slashed its prices by 20% until midnight on 12 January 2012.

Last year, the inspiration of world-renowned conductor Charles Hazlewood, supported by Michael Eavis enabled Orchestra in a Field to humbly establish itself as the orchestral counterpart to Glastonbury Festival.

Two days of festival is once again set to resonate around the magical ruins of Glastonbury Abbey with unique performances merging the world of classical music with rock, pop, hip hop and jazz.

A breath-taking line-up is already being formed which includes the explosive return of The Scrapheap Orchestra and the fantastic British Paraorchestra playing for the first time since their triumphant appearance at the Paralympic closing ceremony.

Gorgeous compositions from historical composers such as Benjamin Britten, Dvorak, Wagner and Strauss will be explored and recreated by British Orchestras in ways the classical music world has never seen or heard before.

Alongside these orchestral showstoppers there will be a range of exciting one-off musical experiences from some of our hottest contemporary talents including members of Portishead and Goldfrapp.

Charles Hazlewood said: "I want to take people on a musical journey and open them up to new experiences. Where else can you get world class orchestral performances, psychedelic improvisation by members of Portishead and rap stars performing live with a symphony orchestra?

He added: "Orchestra in a Field has all the energy of a rock festival but with an orchestra at its heart. It's for us, it's for everyone, it's for now."

A Talk Tent will be open throughout the festival hosting celebrities who will chat about how music relates to their world.

Local talent and young musicians will be showcased in The Tea Tent, where a captivating programme of music will be staged.

In addition to all this, there's plenty available to entertain children. A massive 'Free Kids Area' complete with children's theatre, vintage helter skelter and swing-boats will be open.

Tickets can be bought locally at Glastonbury Abbey or via the Festivals For All website.
