GEMS Scrapstore Announces Local Giving Opportunity

GEMS Scrapstore & Play Resource Centre based in Wells, Somerset is now registered with on-line community support network, Local Giving.com

The online facility enables community groups and charities to receive donations from the public and businesses to support their work.

The Scrapstore, which is a registered charity, diverts waste from landfill to be used by schools, children's' services, community groups and families for use in art, craft, education and play.

Manager Laura Kavanagh said: 'With the support of Somerset Community Foundation we have been able to set up this account which we very much hope will see donations from generous and supportive individuals who really value our work and recognise it as a vital service to the community. We would encourage anyone to help us move forward through these difficult times of funding and make a donation - however small - as it will a huge difference to the charity
