Julie Hayes, the Abbey's education co-ordinator hopes to see a glowing trail of lanterns travel through the town as dusk falls, marking the end of the Frost Fair.
Other attractions at the Frost Fayre this year include horse and carriage trips to Santa's Grotto, traditional Christmas refreshments and live buskers and entertainment all day.
The live music will take place at The Melodrome, The Market Cross and Outside St John's Church.
All ages are invited to take part in the procession and join in with the lantern making.
The first workshop takes place at the Red Brick Building open day in Glastonbury this Sunday (October 21) from 11.00am to 3.30pm.
