Glastonbury Carnival 2012: Route, road closures and parking information

Excitement and anticipation is building for Glastonbury Carnival this Saturday (November 17) which is set to be a spectacular illuminated event.
This year the Glastonbury Carnival Committee have a fundraising target of £50,000, over £20,000 more than was raised at last year's event
Carnival fundraisers will be out in force this year as the Committee has a fundraising target of £50,000. For this they say they need just £1 donated by every person at the carnival.
This year's carnival will start at 7pm from Relief road.
The 2012 Glastonbury Carnival Route
This year's route starts on Relief Road, just south of Northload Roundabout. The procession will travel to Wyyral Park Roundabout where it turns left onto the A39, turning left again onto Magdelene Street. It will then continue right onto the High Street.
At the top of the High Street, the procession will turn left onto Lambrook Street where it will finish just before reaching Manor House Road.
Road Closures at Glastonbury Carnival 2012
Northload Roundabout and Clarks Roundabout in Street will close at 5pm.
Tinbridge Roundabout will close on Friday 16 November from 6pm.
Old Wells Road will close at 7pm and there will be no access beyond Thorndon estate between 5pm and 7pm after which total closure from Brindham junction will take place.
Car Parking at Glastonbury Carnival 2012
The new Tesco car-park in Glastonbury is open to the public on the evening of the carnival before the store officially opens on November 19. However you should be in town by 5pm to avoid road closures.
A car-park next to the Redlands Estate in Glastonbury can be accessed via Butleigh Road at any time during the evenings.
