1) The Olympic Torch Relay in Glastonbury – Local Olympic and Paralympic celebrations of 2012
Glastonbury was bursting with Olympic pride this summer as the Olympic torch passed through the town in May 2012
Townspeople were out in force as the flame passed through Glastonbury and it was later revealed that Glastonbury Tor was playing a vital role in the opening ceremony for the games.

2) The Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations in Glastonbury
Glastonbury people celebrated the Queen's Jubilee in true form last summer with parties, plenty of bunting and by lighting up Glastonbury's famous Tor in her honour. A local artist even designed a 'peace candle' as a gift from the town to the Queen for her special year.

3) Orchestra in a Field at Glastonbury Abbey
Set in the beautiful 36 acre grounds of Glastonbury Abbey, local and world renowned conductor Charles Hazlewood hosted the fabulous two day classical music event, Orchestra in a Field, leaving spectators in raptures.
Professor Green and Labrinth even made an appearance at this spectacular festival encouraging children to take an interest in classical music.

4) Glastonbury Zombie Walk 2012
Last October local onlookers saw over 100 groaning zombies lurch through the streets of Glastonbury in aid of local charity Martha Care.
The eerie event took place on October 28, close to all Hallow's Eve, and proved a complete success - Martha Care have already started recruiting next year's undead troops!

5) Glastonbury Carnival 2012
Glastonbury's 2012 Guy Fawkes Carnival dazzled thousands of local onwards as spectacularly designed floats made their way through the streets followed by a plethora of show-stopping entertainers.
