A heavy piece of construction machinery was found alight in Meare, near Glastonbury, early this morning.
At 6.26am fire fighters were called from Glastonbury and Street after a loading shovel was reported to be on fire on Ashcott Road, Meare.
The loading shovel was severely damaged by the fire but no-one else was reported to be injured following the incident.
