Glastonbury Town's management team of Roy Winter and Paul Dowden have departed the club.

The decision was confirmed at a meeting at the Abbey Moor Stadium on Monday held in the wake of their 2-1 weekend defeat at Langford Rovers.

The Dollies have been in woeful form all season and currently sit bottom of the Somerset County League Premier Division after winning just three of their 21 matches.

The duo have been in charge at the Abbey Moor Stadium for 18 months, with Dowden replacing Pete Cook as manager at the start of last season, naming Winter as his assistant.

A difficult season followed and, despite ensuring his side just about staved off relegation to Division 1, Dowden swapped roles with Winter ahead of the current campaign.

Results have not improved under the revised regime, with the pair now taking the decision to leave the club.

An interim manager is being sought before Saturday's home clash with Berrow (2pm), while another meeting to discuss the permanent future of the club is also being planned.
