The Red Brick Building, Glastonbury
On the weekends of August 13th and 14th and August 20th and 21st (and clement weather permitting), helpers are needed to assist in building the walls of the Visitors Centre and Project Office at the Red Brick Building. Anyone is welcome to attend, whatever their age.
While the roof is already in place, the walls of the building, which has been masterminded by Robin Howell with the help of other volunteers, will be constructed from old Argos catalogues (donated by Argos) plus wood donated by Snows Timber. Argos has 5000 old catalogues waiting for the project at the Argos Distribution Centre near Bridgwater (although they need to be collected, so if you know how to transport 15 pallets each weighing 800kg to Glastonbury, then please let the organisers know!
The Red Brick Cafe will be open on site, with tea and squash being free for all helpers, while additionally other food and drink including flapjacks, pasties, sandwiches and ground coffee will be available to buy.
If you are able to help, either with building, supervising or first aid, or even if you have some old or new PVA Unibond please email Robin on howell822@btinternet.com or call into the site from 10am to 4pm on Monday to Friday and ask for Robin or Sarah.
