SOMERSET COUNTY LEAGUE

Shirehampton completed a quick-fire double over Cutters Friday with a 3-2 away victory on Saturday.

Following their recent 3-1 home win over Cutters, Shirehampton followed up with a hard-fought triumph.

The visitors took a 16th-minute lead through Dan Griffiths and Rob Treanor's penalty on the half-hour doubled the advantage.

However, Ryan Bending's penalty made it 2-1 by half-time and the same player equalised with 20 minutes to go.

Griffiths, though, popped up with a winner for Shirehampton with eight minutes left.

Bottom-of-the-table St George Easton in Gordano gained their third victory of the season in incredible fashion as they turned a 3-0 half-time deficit into a 4-3 victory against Glastonbury.

Leaders Cheddar went down 2-0 at Langford Rovers, while the games between Nailsea Town and Ashton & Backwell; and Odd Down and Stockwood Green fell victim to waterlogged pitches.
