I visited St. Dunstan's school yesterday and noticed (indeed it wasn't difficult to spot) that the school sign at the entrance had been attacked by graffiti artist(s) with four letter words that cannot be repeated here as well as a juvenile drawing of a penis and testicles.

Unfortunately, mindless graffiti appears to be on the increase around town of late (with the slogan mindless graffiti itself also appearing) and road signs seem particularly vulnerable - I assume because they provide an easy to spray on flat surface and are viewed by many people) although much of the graffiti on road signs has been tagging (a personal and easily identifiable signature done for the purpose of identifying oneself amongst peers and in particular other taggers) and while it only takes a minute or two to leave unsightly graffiti, it is actually classed as criminal damage and is expensive and time consuming to remove.
Local police are keen to hear from anyone who may have information on who attacked the school sign or indeed the identities of any of the taggers around town and anyone with information is encouraged to telephone 101 or alternatively anonymously call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
