Local volunteers in Street rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into a litter pick in the town last Sunday.

Volunteers included members of the Lions Club, Neighbourhood Watch, local Police force, Parish and District Councillors and the Street Society. Even local MP Tessa Munt came along to lend a hand.

Tessa and Council members felt the event was a success and hope this is the start of many additional community activities that will see volunteers and residents working together for the good of the area.

Tessa Munt said "It's absolutely fantastic how many people have come to volunteer to help – it shows real community spirit. It was great to join in and I will be back for other events like this in Street."
