The wedding season for 2012 has arrived and a number of trends have been making an impact this year. Still influenced by the Royal weddings last year, the classic white bouquet has been getting some competition from the vintage look promoted by a number of wedding magazines.

Carrie Martin, from City Blooms Interflora florists in Glastonbury has seen a rise in vintage, rustic styles for weddings over the past few weeks. She says, “We’re seen a lot of very different styles come up, each with different flowers and colour schemes. Because we live in a largely rural setting, many brides want a country, wildflower look to their bouquets.”

Carrie continues, “The recent economic situation has meant that more brides are looking for a way to keep to a budget without compromising on their wedding flowers. The rustic, do-it-yourself look is very big at the moment as vintage styles are on trend. It also gives us more freedom as florists. Most of the brides I deal with say what flowers they do and don’t want, give me a colour scheme and trust us to create something for them.”

City Blooms is part of Interflora’s network of professional florists across the UK, offering amazing bouquets and arrangements for delivery worldwide. Order online or drop into your local Interflora florist to have your flowers delivered by Interflora, ready for any special occasion.
