Three people have been arrested after a confrontation between drivers on Tuesday (January 15) that caused a traffic jam in Glastonbury.

On Wirral Park Road, Glastonbury, at around 10am last Tuesday, one vehicle stopped obstructing another, bringing traffic to a standstill.

There was a confrontation on the road and both drivers have now made allegations against one another.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested 'on suspicion of affray' and from a different vehicle, a 28-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman have been arrested 'on suspicion of causing criminal damage.'

The three people have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police are now appealing to the public for witnesses.

A Police spokesperson said: "We know traffic was stopped behind the vehicles and anyone caught in the traffic queue, or passing on foot, should contact police as they may have information which could help our enquiries.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision should contact us on 101. Alternatively, phone the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. They never ask your name or trace your call."
