Fabulous FREE attraction and in all seasons

One of Glastonbury's gems, the RLM is a Somerset County Council funded museum dedicated to all things rural - the clue is in the name, but many people don't realise it's FREE to get in and once you're there, you can meander the exhibits, visit a traditional Victorian kitchen, wander the orchard and the Tythe Barn, and as Spring is springing, it a glorious place to see nature burst back into life. Lovely.

Come Zee zacklee how Zummerzet folk lived in Glahsstunbree

If you are walking out of town to the Tor, then this free admission Museum is well worth a visit on the way. It is housed in buildings surrounding a 14th century barn that once belonged to Glastonbury Abbey, and depicts the social and agricultural history of Somerset.

Craft demonstrations and short-term exhibitions are held throughout the year as well as educational activities for schools and children, with Donkey Day being one of my favourite, as rescue donkeys from the Sidmouth sanctuary are on display. There is a pleasant little cafe attached should you need refreshments (although I think this is closed during the winter months) and small gifts are available to buy.
