Forget Gog and Magog and the Glasto Thorn... what are your favourite trees in and around town?
Just for the record, my Top 5 are:
5) The oak outside the children's centre on Benedicts Street. Fine limbs!
4) The Bee Tree in the Abbey grounds. Sadly has been hacked about alot (for it's own good I suspect) but I could sit and watch the bees coming in and out of it for hours.
3) The massive oak on the path between Fairfield Gardens and Morrisons. It must look at all these buildings and laugh at their imperminance.
2) The apple tree in my garden. It's actually two trees but hey...
1) Treeface. This huge copper beech at the top end of Bulwarks Lane has THE most expressive "face" I have ever seen on a tree. Jury's still out on whether it's male or female.
