The postcode for The Red Brick Building (BA6 9FT) has been in the Royal Mail Postal Address File (PAF) for some time but maps such as those used on this website, navigation devices and postcode lookups used in online forms are only as accurate as the data set they use. In the case of this website mapping function they are obviously using a copy of the PAF file that is at least 6 months old. Maps and navigation systems will instead use as much of the postcode as it can recognise such as the postcode district or postcode sector and stick in pin in the centre of that district or sector or navigate your car to the fire station when you were trying to find Dunstan Park. Nothing to do with the Royal Mail but poor maintenance of data sets.

ReportAh... this makes a lot of sense and goes a way to explaining why I fell out with the Australian man in my satnav the first time I visited the building.

ReportThe last time I enquired (for Glastonbury FM Radio), that part of town hasn't actually been allocated a postcode as yet. But hey -- the powers-that-be (read : PostOffice) may have got their fingers out by now....
But knowing the efficiency of the PO, I wouldn't hold your breath.

ReportMmm I've just checked this, and unfortunately Martin although the correct postcode was put in, the map appears to be showing a completely different location. Thanks for pointing this out, I'll get on to the tech team about it.

ReportIs this exhibition at the RBB; or is it out along the Pilton road ?
Or is it that someone hasn't a clue what their postcode is ?
