Their simple tips include the following:
When you are out shopping with your car:
- Be careful where you park, especially if you will be returning to it after dark.
- If parking in a multi-storey car park, choose a well-lit space as close to the exit as possible and away from pillars. Reverse into position.
- Don't return to your car to leave purchases in the car boot before continuing with your shopping, thieves may be watching car parks.
- Keep car doors locked whilst driving in built up areas, especially if you've got bags of presents in the car.
- Don't leave lots of presents on show in a parked car as they could tempt thieves
Report anything suspicious to Avon and Somerset Constabulary on 0845 456 7000 and help to reduce crime this Christmas period.

And they say this is a low crime area. With all those warnings i would think i was in the middle of some South American city. It would be far more easy to cancel Christmas.
There was a time in this town when you could go out and leave the door open. Now everything has to be like Fort Knox. Is this part of the big soceity we hear so much about. When they say" help your neighbours", it has to be pointed out that it does not mean help yourself to your neighbour's goods, quite a few get confused with that.
