Spiced Blackberry Port - Home-made and ready for Christmas!

Victor's delicious Sloe recipe has prompted me to tell you about another festive drink which we in the Awesome household have been lovingly preparing this past weekend.

Beautiful blackberries ripe and ready for your recipes
Like Victor, we trawled the local hedgerows in search of blackberries - now coming to the end of their season so if you fancy making this drink then you'd need to get out their with your tubs and bags pretty soon. Travel to some quiet country lanes and wander along the hedges, it won't take long to find some.
Anyway, I had been told about Bramble Port and while I couldn't seem to find a sensible recipe anywhere, I decided to have a go at concocting my own.
I bought two bottles of ruby port, nothing expensive but around £6 a bottle from a local supermarket. I sterilised a couple of empty beer and wine bottles had with boiling water and using a funnel, into them I placed:
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 X cinammon stick
I then half filled each bottle with blackberries and topped the bottle back up with port, sealed the bottles, gave them a good shake and have placed in a cupboard, where I will gently shake them every other day or so.
I believe that the fruit will soon start to mulch down in the port and the end result should be something like a rich liqueur.
Delicious! And like Victor, I shall be using the left-over fruit when it comes to straining the bottles and mixing it with dark chocolate for some home made treats.
Does anyone else have any lovely home-made recipes they'd like to share?
