The 29th Annual Children's World Festival took place over the weekend at the Abbey Park, and was by all accounts another success for the Children's World Charity team.

Hula Hooping not just for kids!
The charity, which was founded in 1981 by the late Arabella Churchill, provides educational, social and emotional benefits to children, especially those with special needs. It runs two children's festivals each year in Glastonbury and Bristol and undertakes other extensive work within schools across the south west.
The festival ran for four days and offered children and young people and their families opportunities to take part in a range of wondrous and exciting activities. As ever, Glastonbury's answer to the Chuckle Brothers in the form of Haggis and Charlie were on-hand each day to offer their humourous and engaging stage shows featuring fire juggling and the like. With great rapport with the audience and some hysterical aimed-at-adults humour, it was no wonder that the shows packed a crowd each time.
Art and craft, a climbing wall, inflatables, circus skills, face painting a carousel and much more kept little ones and older ones busy. With the weather generally kind this weekend, it was the perfect way to spend a day with a picnic, playing in the park. Perfect!
