Could David Cameron's Rude Salute Save Strode?

Fund-stricken Strode Theatre has unveiled an exhibition by local Artist and Photographer Jason Bryant, with one painting carrying a £57,000 price tag.

David Cameron gives Arts in Somerset two fingers
This sum is the amount of funding the theatre will lose in the next financial year, following the catastrophic withdrawal of 100% of the local Arts Budget, by Somerset County Council. The painting which depicts David Cameron giving two fingers, is up for sale for the £57K and while it is a tongue-in-cheek move by Strode staff and Mr Bryant, the theatre Manager is holding out for a generous punter to rise to the offer of replacing the funding in exchange for an original piece of artwork.
Along side this piece, are several other examples of Jason's work, including portraits of Johnny Rotten, Jim Morrison and a scene of Glastonbury Festival. His distinctive Pop Art style is extremely good, and well worth popping down to view - go and lend the staff some moral support while you're there and maybe buy some tickets to se a show while you're at it.......

Only an idea but see if you can contact Stella Vine the stuckist painter to do some for the theatre, She has a studio in London and was once an actress by the name of Melissa Jordan,( I was her stage manager for a one woman production called "Adult Child, Dead Child" at the Kings head Theatre in islington back in the 90s).If she hears about the theatres plight she may well be willing to help. She also became a good friend but unfortunately we lost touch.(I babysitted for her on several occasions) She came to fame as an artist when Saatchi and Saatchi snapped up her rather controversial "Lady Diana" paintings.You may may mentioion my real name (John Katon)If I was in Glasto now i would certainly be campaigning to keep the Strode going. Its a wonderfull venue which i visited a few times when I lived there.
