I've not been into the G&P for over a years as on the last couple of occasions it had not been a pleasant experience with surly management and an unwelcome feel from the staff, but over the past few weeks the G&P has acquired new management who straight away made us feel welcome when we called in for a few drinks on Friday evening. There's a wider range of ales now as well as Heck's cider and it seems that the place is becoming the favourite...um...haunt of local ghosts too as recent news stories will attest.

ReportIt's been a while since I went to the G&P for a drink, mainly because in the ast they haven't sold a very good choice of largers which my other half prefers to drink. Once upon a time, it was one of my favourite locals, for the appeal of the open fire, the historic architecture and cosy interior, huge wooden tables and warm atmosphere. It went downhill a few years ago with a less than impressive management team and the the consistent smell of medieval sewerage system! However, we popped in last weekend and enjoyed a drink in the cosy side roon, they now serve Grolsch which made my chap happy and there was a lovely atmosphere. It just feels a bit more chilled out than the other high street pubs and less frantic. Looking forward to returning there soon!

ReportThsi is a lovely and historic building in central Glastonbury, worth a look for the architecture alone. Inside it's part hotel, part pub with nice seating and an open fire in the winter. Not a brilliant selection of beers but they serve pretty good food in a seperate dining room and in the bar.
