    Recycling collections in action.
    Bank Holiday Monday 27 May moves all the week's recycling and rubbish collections one day later than usual, including Friday's pick-ups on Saturday 1 June. Recycling site timetables are unchanged so all sites are open Saturday 8am-4pm, Sunday 8am-1pm and Bank Holiday Monday 8am-7pm.

    Central Somerset residents are being warned to be vigilant after a Glastonbury woman was telephoned by a someone claiming to be from BT who tried to extract credit card details from her. Police confirmed they were aware of the scam. A spokesman said: "These calls are not from BT and are an unscrupulous attempt to obtain bank account details.   • Welcome for German exchange students

    Pupils at Crispin School in Street have welcomed 18 German students as part an exchange programme. In January Crispin pupils travelled to Isny in Germany to spend a week with their hosts, and this week, the favour is being returned.
