The Railway's a strange place. It is in the middle of nowhere on a minor B-road a few miles outside of Meare. It's a popular stop off for cyclists and bird watchers and despite appearing to have very few people living nearby is actually quite a locals' place. You can pop in at any time of day or night and there will be folk propping up the bar, and it is a real old fashioned Somerset pub. A friendly and welcoming atmosphere awaits and there is an expansive beer garden for when the weather allows.

ReportIs a remote pub which is almost a surprise to find. Great bit outside garden and little bar, run by a couple who have been there for donkeys years. Don't expect great food and unusual beers, its quite basic in its offerings but for peace and quiet its unbeatable.
