Popped in yesterday to pick up one of the corn breads. I've been meaning to get one for ages but it appears to only be on offer now and again. What can I say - it was absolutely delicious, especially when smothered with hummous and red onion; certainly lived up to my expectations. With bread like that no wonder the place is often queued out the door!

Burns the Bread is a wonderful, family-owned bakery based in Glastonbury high street. They sell a wide range of breads, cakes and pastries made from quality ingredients and using traditional baking methods. They also sell a mouth-watering selection of sandwiches making this a great place to pick up your lunch.
They do a good selection of food. Also they do great pizzas, pasties, cakes and cookies. I recommend the Easter cookies and the lamb and mint pasties, it has lovely pieces of lamb and the mint is just enough not to over powering. The place was very clean and tidy and the smell was divine.

ReportA good selection of all types of bread, cakes and pastries, with stuff like pizza, rolls and pasties for a quick lunch. Often very busy in the mornings and pretty much sold out by lunchtime is testament to the popularity of Glastonbury's premier bakery.

ReportUnable to help myself, I was drawn into Burns the Bread by the name and pleased to find, on treating myself to a bun as I headed towards the abbey, that it's not just a silly name but also a rather good bakery that I'd recommend to anyone.
